Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) has taken the initiative to establish a committee responsible for the development and execution of cultural and community-based sports projects. This move was prompted by the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, conveyed during his participation in the Direct Line programme on the Sharjah Sports Channel.
The primary objective of this committee is to closely monitor the level of citizen engagement in various sports competitions and activities within each club. This monitoring will serve as the basis for allocating support within the annual budget, with the aim of increasing the percentage of citizen participation year by year.

The meeting, presided over by His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), was attended by all members. The newly formed committee will be led by Abdullah bin Mullaeh, with Khalifa Al Jari serving as the deputy chairperson. The committee will subsequently assemble its members and a dedicated team to carry out its responsibilities, which will include conducting periodic site visits to clubs to assess the implementation of their programmes and their alignment with established plans.

Al Hazmi emphasised that the new committee's role will encompass measuring the social impact of these clubs by defining specific performance indicators to gauge year-to-year progress. This approach ensures adherence to the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and guarantees that support primarily benefits deserving citizens of the country.

The council consistently prioritises His Highness's directives and strives to translate them into tangible actions through its strategic plans and programmes.
