The club collaborated with the Mleiha Municipality to organise a practical agricultural workshop for participants aged 7–12 and 13–17. Participants learned about sustainability concepts and engaged in direct planting and cultivation activities, an educational step that strengthened their sense of environmental responsibility and belonging to their place.
This workshop is one of the highlights of "Here is Sharjah" Week, which concluded amidst a remarkable turnout and strong engagement from children and youth. The workshop combined education, entertainment, and experience within a comprehensive vision that reflects the Emirate of Sharjah's commitment to building a generation proud of its identity, connected to its environment, open to knowledge, and engaged with its heritage and values.
In the context of developing religious awareness, the club organised a workshop on ablution and prayer in cooperation with the Department of Islamic Affairs. The workshop was presented in a simplified style appropriate to the participants' age group, instilling in them the concepts of purity and worship.
The week also featured a distinguished Quranic activity in cooperation with the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, which focused on correcting recitation and instilling a sense of connection with the Holy Quran in the hearts of children.
Arts were also featured in this diverse week. An Arabic calligraphy workshop was held in cooperation with the Department of Culture, aiming to develop artistic taste and hone participants' handwriting skills. “Shaddad” Making (Camel Gear) workshop was held at the Sharjah Camel Racing Club headquarters, allowing participants to gain a closer look at the heritage of camel racing and the details of making authentic Emirati Shaddads.
To promote national belonging and general knowledge, the club organised the "Know Sharjah" competition, which tested participants' knowledge of the Emirate's history and prominent landmarks in an interactive and engaging manner. The "Participant in the Role of Supervisor" initiative also offered participants the opportunity to experience leadership, discipline, and responsibility by assuming supervisory roles within workshops and activities.
At the end of the week, an exploratory field visit was organised to the Buhais Geology Park, where participants learned about the unique geological formations in the Mleiha area and discovered the secrets of the natural environment through an exciting scientific experience that combined learning and adventure.
On this occasion, Mohammed Awad Al Ketbi, member of the club's board of directors and head of the organising committee stated that "Here is Sharjah" week represented a realistic translation of the Sharjah Sports Council's vision of providing an integrated educational summer, blending knowledge with experience, values with enjoyment, and identity with interaction. He highlighted the positive impact the events had on the participants, and the genuine engagement and increased awareness they witnessed regarding heritage and the environment.
Al Ketbi added that the success would not have been possible without the fruitful cooperation with several community and official departments and institutions. He thanked all partners and supporters, emphasising that the Mleiha Club still has many purposeful and innovative activities in store, which will continue during the coming weeks of the "Our Holiday is Different" programme, to provide an exceptional summer filled with benefit and enjoyment.
Al Ketbi stated that the "Our Holiday is Different" programme continues at the Mleiha Club, in accordance with an expanded plan prepared by the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC). This programme aims to harness the energies of young people during the summer vacation in a safe and stimulating environment that promotes values, nurtures minds, and develops life and community skills among the new generation.
