The event received widespread support from club members and the local community, as part of the Emirate's efforts to promote social integration and empower people with disabilities through purposeful and comprehensive programmes.
The programme's activities included a series of sporting, cultural, and awareness-raising activities, including workshops in drawing, painting, and model-making, as well as sports challenges and competitive competitions. Combat and demonstration activities, most notably boxing shows, were highly anticipated by participants and attendees.
The closing ceremony was attended by the club's chairman and board members, along with a number of guests and community figures. It included artistic and musical performances, and concluded with a ceremony honouring partners, supporters, volunteers, and the work team in appreciation of their efforts and role in the programme's success and achieving its goals.
In a special statement, His Excellency Abdullah Saleh Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unlimited support for people with disabilities and his continued commitment to empowering and integrating them into various aspects of life. He also praised SSC role in supervising and coordinating these events.
Al Naqbi said that the club is proud of the success and true empowerment achieved by participating in "Our Holiday is Different 2025." These initiatives reflect Sharjah's comprehensive societal vision, and the club is committed to continuing to develop its programmes to make more qualitative achievements.
For his part, Louai Saeed Allay Al Naqbi, Vice Chairman of the Club's Board of Directors, stated that this summer reflects the club's commitment to providing a nurturing and safe environment for people with disabilities, enabling them to unleash their potential and participate in activities that meet their psychological and social needs. The club will continue to support this segment and enhance its active presence in all future initiatives.
Abdullah Al Tunaiji, Head of the Club's Cultural Committee, emphasised the importance of artistic and cultural programmes, saying that cultural activities were a key focus of the programme, as they play a significant role in self-expression and fostering social interaction among participants. The club always strives to provide content that balances enjoyment and benefit, contributing to the development of a well-rounded personality for members.
It's worth noting that the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled continues to organise numerous annual initiatives that seek to support and integrate people with disabilities, within a clear vision that aligns with the general direction of the Emirate of Sharjah as an inclusive and equal society.
