The annual participation of Al Hamriyah Municipality comes as part of its distinguished contribution to "Sharjah Sports Summer," held under the slogan "Our Holiday is Different," organised by Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and supervised by the Sharjah Sports Council, running from June 30 to July 31.
This year's summer program kicked off with an interactive environmental workshop called "Together We Protect Our Marine Environment." The session aimed to educate children about the importance of preserving marine life and the threats posed by plastic waste to marine creatures and the overall ecosystem.
The workshop was led by a team from the municipality’s Public Relations Department, including Asma Al Muhairi, Sheikha Al Shamsi, and Reem Al Muhairi. It included interactive content and engaging activities using recycled materials, such as plastic bottle caps. This approach effectively conveyed environmental messages in a fun and practical manner, while also promoting creativity and awareness among participants.
His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, emphasised that summer activities have become a vital component of the municipality’s community agenda, noting their significant role in enhancing youth awareness and ensuring meaningful and enjoyable use of time during the summer break. He highlighted that teams across all departments collaborated to create and implement comprehensive programs that align with community aspirations, adapt to developmental changes, and instill values of innovation, creativity, and a sense of environmental and social belonging in children.
Al Shamsi underscored that the Municipality's program embodies its vision for community and developmental work, focusing on building a conscious generation equipped with the tools and skills necessary for active societal participation. He also commended the productive cooperation with Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and the Sharjah Sports Council, affirming the municipality's commitment to supporting community and student programs. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with various entities in Sharjah to fulfill community development goals and maximize the benefits of the summer holiday for the region's youth.
