Al Hamriyah Municipality organises "My Volunteer Card" workshop

Sharjah 24: Within the framework of directing the energies of youth, children and adolescents towards volunteer work, to enhance effective participation in society and achieve the goals of sustainable development, Al Hamriyah Municipality organised "My Volunteer Card" workshop, at its headquarters, as part of the activities of the closing week of Sharjah Summer.
During the workshop, organised on Tuesday, the participants designed cartoon cards that reflect their interests in the field of volunteering, writing the name of the volunteer and the field in which they wish to contribute in the future, in addition to colouring the card in a way that suits their personal vision and enhances loyalty and belonging to the homeland.

The workshop introduced the most important effects and benefits of volunteering, which are nourishing the individual's personality, community cohesion, serving the homeland, loyalty and belonging, in general, strengthening the concept of cohesion and unity among members of society, directing the energies of youth towards serving others, enhancing the sense of belonging and responsibility towards society, developing and improving experiences, interests and hobbies, enhancing social communication, and consolidating the values of tolerance. 

"My Volunteer Card" workshop was organised by the national employees in Al Hamriyah Municipality, and included contents enhancing the participants' creative energies, discovering their talents and investing their time, and introducing the participants to the importance of volunteer work in promoting sustainable development and building a better future for new generations. 

The workshop was led by Sheikha Jamal Al Shamsi and Hanan Ali Al Shamsi from the Institutional Interaction Department at Al Hamriyah Municipality. They explained to the participants that volunteering is more than just a humanitarian act; it is a community culture that enhances cohesion and brotherhood among community members and supports sustainable development. They also stressed that volunteering reflects the social and cultural maturity of society and constitutes a fundamental pillar for building an interdependent and prosperous society.

Sheikha Jamal Al Shamsi and Hanan Ali Al Shamsi pointed out that volunteering is a community culture that enhances community cohesion and human brotherhood, and is an important goal in promoting sustainable development. They added that volunteering reflects the social and cultural maturity among all segments of society.

Regarding the objectives of the workshop, Sheikha and Hanan Al Shamsi said that the workshop achieved the desired goals by spreading the culture of volunteering and giving among the members of the summer programme at Al Hamriyah Club, instilling the spirit of social responsibility in their souls, enhancing the concepts of volunteer work as well as loyalty and belonging to the homeland, consolidating the values of initiative in charitable and volunteer work and raising the sense of community.
