The weekly campaign activities, conducted by Al Hamriyah Municipality employees and members of Al Hamriyah Police Station, included various cultural programmes and recreational workshops. These activities featured explanations and distribution of beach guidelines, swimming instructions, and safety measures at Al Hamriyah Beach Park, targeting visitors of all ages, community members, tourists, and beachgoers.
Many activities were organied for children, which included motivational competitions, recreational activities, and competitive programmes using environmentally friendly paper games. The aim was to develop children's fine motor skills, enhance their social abilities, encourage creativity and innovation, and educate them about the importance of following beach safety guidelines while they are with their families.
Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, stated that the municipality is achieving the goals of the campaign. These goals include educating visitors about the importance of following beach guidelines and adhering to the instructions provided by the municipality across the beach and Al Hamriyah Beach Park. This includes swimming in designated areas, monitoring children accompanying their families, following the warning flags indicating sea conditions, and adhering to the instructions and guidance of the marine rescue teams and municipal inspectors present along Al Hamriyah Beach.
Al Shamsi noted that the campaign has been well-received by all visitors to Al Hamriyah Beach and Al Hamriyah Beach Park. It has highlighted environmental sustainability issues, supporting Sharjah Emirate's efforts and positively influencing individual behavior and responsibilities towards achieving an environmentally conscious community.
He highlighted the ongoing community initiatives of Al Hamriyah Municipality, which aim to involve various segments of society and visitors, encouraging them to preserve the environment and adhere to public safety measures during their visits to Al Hamriya Beach. He emphasized the continuous environmental and awareness efforts to reduce incorrect environmental practices, provide advice and guidance during official holidays and vacations to all targeted groups, and promote environmental and community responsibility.
