Sharjah 24: As part of its community role and strategic partnership with Al Hamriyah Club, Al Hamriyah Municipality organised an interactive workshop entitled 'Little Electrician' for participants in “A Holiday Reimagined” Sharjah Summer Sports Programme, held under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council.

The workshop formed part of a series of initiatives aimed at developing the skills of children and young people, while promoting a culture of innovation and hands-on learning.

The workshop introduced participants to the principles of electricity and energy in a simple and interactive manner through a practical activity in which they assembled a battery-powered electric fan. This enabled them to understand the components of an electrical circuit and how electric current is transmitted to power the motor and rotate the fan. It also helped develop their scientific thinking and practical skills, while encouraging innovation, exploration and the transformation of ideas into practical applications.

The initiative reflects Al Hamriyah Municipality's commitment to supporting high-quality summer programmes and contributing to the development of a generation equipped with knowledge and scientific skills by delivering innovative educational workshops that make productive use of students' summer holidays and reinforce a culture of learning through practice.

Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, said the municipality's participation in 'A Holiday Reimagined' programme reflects its approach to strengthening institutional partnerships with government entities, foremost among them Al Hamriyah Club and the Sharjah Sports Council, in support of community development objectives and investment in people.

He added that caring for children and young people in the Emirate of Sharjah receives great attention from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who has made human development and the enhancement of people's capabilities a longstanding priority. "At Al Hamriyah Municipality, we are committed to translating this vision through specialised initiatives and workshops that enhance participants' knowledge, develop their scientific skills, and inspire innovation and creativity, enabling them to become active contributors to building the nation's future," he said.

Al Shamsi noted that the 'Little Electrician' workshop represents a model of interactive learning that combines knowledge with practical application while instilling in children a passion for science, experimentation and discovery. He affirmed that the municipality will continue to deliver educational and awareness initiatives that support quality of life and strengthen integration with various government entities in service of the community.
