Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Salama Training Centre for Preventive Training, in collaboration with the Prevention and Safety Authority (SPSA), recently concluded Heat Stress Awareness Week. The event, aimed at over 500 workers in sun-exposed jobs, focused on preventing heat stress and addressing heat-related illnesses.
The week featured a series of awareness sessions and interactive workshops led by experts from the Salama Training Centre. The sessions emphasised the importance of maintaining body temperature, staying hydrated, and using protective gear to avoid heat stress.
Engineer Hamid Al Zarouni, CEO of SANED, highlighted the event’s role in promoting adherence to state regulations prohibiting work in high temperatures, as mandated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. He emphasised the need for collective effort to ensure occupational health and safety, especially for workers in the construction and industrial sectors.
Al Zarouni reiterated the UAE's commitment to reducing work-related accidents and promoting worker safety through comprehensive policies and strategies.
