Sharjah 24: Mohammed Al Zarouni, Director of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Health and Prevention in Sharjah, revealed the launch of a heat exhaustion prevention campaign, on Thursday, at Al Hamriyah Sports Club, targeting more than 600 workers working in the city of Al Hamriyah. For his part, Ammar Hassan Al Ali, chief labour inspector at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, expressed his happiness at the launch of the campaign, which carried the theme “Your Safety is Our Priority,” stressing that the ministry has provided all forms of support and supplies to the targeted groups of workers, such as gifts, coupons and smart phones.
Al Zarouni added: The opening day of the campaign included many programmes, most notably the awareness programme on the dangers of heat exhaustion, in addition to training workers on first aid, while providing them with free examinations in various fields.
Ammar Hassan Al Ali stated the campaign was launched by the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, with the aim of enhancing health awareness among all members of society about the dangers of high heat and encouraging community groups whose work requires exposure to sunlight to take preventive measures that will avoid them reaching the stage of heat exhaustion.
Al Ali added that the ministry is a strategic partner in the campaign, as the ministry works to provide all forms of support and supplies to the targeted groups of workers in the workplace and inform them of the dangers of exposure to burnout, its symptoms, ways to prevent it, and how to provide first aid to the injured person, and provide them with awareness booklets in Arabic, English, and Urdu.
