The campaign targets 40 towers in the Emirate that are taller than 23 metres, with the goal of raising awareness about the newly issued High-Rise Building Safety Guide. The announcement was delivered at the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah.
In an exclusive statement to “Sharjah 24,” Dr Al Quraidi noted that the guidance is intended for buildings taller than 23 metres, as such projects require specialised safety procedures that adhere to the highest international standards. The document specifies precise requirements for evacuation plans, fire prevention systems, and preventative maintenance routines, all of which are intended to protect lives and property.
She went on to say that the major goal is to improve the safety of people in high-rise buildings and their general quality of life. Dr Al Quraidi stated that the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority will continue to monitor the towers' compliance with the requirements in collaboration with Sharjah Civil Defence Authority and SANED. This initiative contributes to the creation of a safe and sustainable living environment in Sharjah.
