Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority is dedicated to promoting a culture of safety through a program called "Safety Officers." This initiative is part of a larger effort to ensure safe working conditions and practices across the emirate of Sharjah.

The goal of the Safety Officers program is to train specialized personnel in safety measures, helping to raise awareness and encourage safe behavior at work. This initiative aims to build a safer and more sustainable community for everyone.

Since its launch, the program has attracted significant interest, with a total of 325 people signing up so far.

Engineer Mohammed Al Zarouni, who leads the Occupational Safety and Health Department at the Authority, shared, "We are very proud of the positive results from the Safety Officers program. It has successfully improved participants' understanding of safety and created a group of skilled individuals who can help promote awareness and oversee safety efforts at workplaces. Remarkably, 85% of participants passed their written and practical exams. We've also seen a noticeable increase in their ability to recognize and respond to safety risks."

He emphasized that this program is part of the Authority's commitment to investing in people's skills and is continually being improved to adapt to new developments and include various sectors in its long-term plans.

The Authority’s team is working closely with other relevant organizations to ensure that the program's benefits last over time, all with the aim of making workplaces safer and enhancing the overall quality of life for the community.
