Sharjah 24: Fatima Al Mughni, Vice-Chairperson of the Friends of Kidney Patients Association, stated that the 2024 Heat Exhaustion and Disease Prevention Campaign has significantly raised awareness about summer prevention methods for workers.
The 2024 Heat Exhaustion and Disease Prevention Campaign persists in its efforts to raise awareness and support workers during the summer. It recently arrived in Khorfakkan on Thursday, drawing participation from hundreds of workers across various city-operating institutions.
Fatima Al Mughni mentioned that the campaign has achieved significant success across Sharjah as it tours all cities and regions.
Speaking to “Sharjah 24,” she outlined that the campaign, held at the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, aims to alleviate burdens on workers by offering comprehensive free medical examinations. The initiative has garnered substantial support from the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), the Prevention and Safety Authority, and other organisations.
Abdul Latif Al Qadi, head of the volunteer team at the Red Crescent Authority, reported that the campaign distributed over 250 diabetes testing devices and 250 blood pressure monitors to eligible workers in need.
He mentioned that the campaign involves approximately 32 local and federal institutions. Its goal is to educate workers on preventing heat exhaustion and provide them with various forms of support, including essential materials. This initiative underscores the pivotal role of workers in the nation's construction and comprehensive development.
