Sharjah24: In a vibrant summer atmosphere filled with educational and recreational activities, the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority has launched an awareness workshop for children titled “Safety and Prevention with Salama and Hamoud”. Held as part of the “Our Unique Holiday” programme organised by the Sharjah Sports Council, the workshop targets children aged 6 to 12 years old, with the aim of instilling basic safety knowledge for everyday life.

Child-friendly approach to safety education

The initiative is part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of public safety, especially in spaces where children are commonly present—such as homes, schools and sports clubs. Through the beloved characters “Salama and Hamoud”, information is delivered in a simplified and engaging way that helps young participants grasp the importance of adopting safe behaviours in various situations.

Building long-term safety habits from a young age

The Authority explained that the workshop aligns with a broader strategic plan to reach all segments of society, with a particular focus on children as key partners in creating a safer environment. Early awareness is seen as a foundation for future protection of lives and property. The collaboration with the Sharjah Sports Council reflects the importance of unifying efforts to serve the community and deliver age-appropriate safety education.
