Over the past three months, the authority teamed up with the National Ambulance Service to conduct three training workshops. These workshops were aimed at teaching caregivers important first aid skills they can use in emergencies, whether at home or while traveling. Participants learned how to handle small accidents and injuries effectively, ensuring they can act quickly in critical moments.
A total of 28 employees from Sharjah’s government agencies participated in these workshops and successfully earned a first aid license from the National Ambulance Service. This training will enhance their ability to assist elderly individuals in their daily lives.
Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Director of the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, expressed pride in these workshops, highlighting the authority's commitment to creating a safer community in Sharjah. This initiative is an essential step towards ensuring that caregivers are prepared to handle emergencies, especially for the elderly.
Additionally, this initiative aligns with the theme of the "Year of Community," which focuses on building strong social connections. By equipping caregivers with the necessary skills to respond in emergencies, the program helps keep families safe and strengthens the overall safety of the community.
Overall, the initiative reflects the authority's dedication to raising awareness about the importance of first aid and fostering a culture of safety and prevention in society.
