Fatima Ismail, the Director of Dar Al Aman, explained that the department is participating in the event through a platform at Dubai Hills Center, where Dar Al Aman provides awareness to the public, especially regarding drug prevention or raising awareness about its dangers and problems, not only for drug users but also for the entire community. This is done through the involvement of psychologists and social workers affiliated with Dar Al Aman.
Furthermore, Dar Al Aman is involved in educating the public about the risks of drug abuse and its consequences on society, as well as its health, social, and psychological effects. They distribute informative brochures carrying the slogan "Join Us to Prevent It" and present a video produced by the department, addressing the issue of drug addiction and the role of families in prevention, strengthening family bonds, and protecting youth from addiction. These responsibilities are shared by all members of society and its institutions.
The forum aims to enhance community awareness of the dangers of drugs and psychoactive substances, preventive measures, and the pivotal role played by families in protecting their children from these hazards. It also raises awareness about the damages caused by drug promotion, indicators and causes of drug abuse and psychoactive substances, protective factors, risks, and the role of parents in protecting their children from drugs and psychoactive substances. The forum also introduces the federal law on combating drugs, the treatment and rehabilitation services in the United Arab Emirates, methods of social integration, monitoring challenges, innovative ideas through sessions, promoting a culture of drug refusal through a plan that utilizes digital technologies, display screens, workshops, brainstorming sessions, and social media platforms.
