Objectives of the campaign
The campaign is designed to unify efforts between institutions and the community to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment as students return to school. It focuses on spreading a culture of both physical and psychological safety, increasing awareness among families, and reinforcing the role of educational and security institutions in safeguarding students.
A core pillar of the campaign is school transportation safety. The Foundation is equipping bus drivers and supervisors with specialized awareness materials, promoting best practices in safe student transport. These materials also introduce key resources such as the Child Helpline and outline the proper reporting mechanisms in cases of child abuse.
The campaign includes awareness programs and workshops targeting students, teachers, and administrators. These sessions aim to reinforce discipline, encourage adherence to preventive measures, and emphasize golden rules for safe bus riding. It also extends into the home, offering educational content to parents on positive communication, emotional support, and monitoring school behavior.
To maximise outreach, the campaign features interactive workshops, innovative educational materials, and training sessions for drivers and supervisors on handling emergencies. Awareness messages will also be broadcast via media outlets and social media platforms, ensuring they reach a broad segment of the community.
Her Excellency Hanadi Al Yafei, Director of the Child Safety Foundation, emphasized that the campaign reflects the Foundation’s commitment to building a society that prioritizes child protection.
"The return to school is a renewed opportunity to foster shared responsibility across all institutions," she said. "We aim to ensure that students start their academic year with a sense of security and optimism."
The campaign supports the broader vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council. It seeks to create an integrated educational, health, and psychological environment where government and community efforts work hand in hand to protect students.
