Sharjah24: The Sharjah Charity International donated a new car to the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) in a gesture reflecting the spirit of cooperation and social solidarity, emphasising the value of community participation. The car is intended to serve elderly members affiliated with the department by facilitating their transportation.
Abdullah Saif bin Hindi, head of the corporate services sector at the Sharjah Charity International, stated that this initiative aligns with the association's commitment to supporting governmental and community efforts aimed at improving the lives of the department's beneficiaries. The vehicle has been equipped with amenities, including a lift, to facilitate smooth entry and exit for elderly individuals who face mobility challenges.
He further emphasised the association's ongoing efforts to enhance service levels for the department's clientele, citing its longstanding collaborative relationship with SSSD. He underscored the importance of caring for and supporting the elderly, whether through institutional support or individual contributions, acknowledging their lifelong dedication to serving society, caring for their families, and utilising all their resources for community service.
Bin Hindi highlighted that the association's role encompasses various aspects of support, focusing on preserving human dignity and honouring individuals in this stage of life, which necessitates continuous care and specialised rehabilitation programmes aimed at enhancing their quality of life.
