The Branches Management Director further explained that the department expedited the project completion within the designated time frame to allow the Islamic Affairs Department to take over and include these prayer yards in the list of Eid prayer venues. Recently, the department also completed the development of the Eid prayer yard in the Nahwa area of Khorfakkan, in addition to establishing a new Eid prayer yard in the Al Bahais area of Madam in the central region.
Sharjah encompasses more than 31 prayer yards across all its regions. Eid prayers are also held in some large mosques in residential areas where Eid prayer yards are unavailable. The Islamic Affairs Department ensures the cleaning and maintenance of prayer yards, along with the installation of sound systems and floor covering either with sand or tiling in collaboration with the Sharjah Public Works Department, all completed well before the holiday season.
