Engineer Hind Nasser, who leads the Human Resources and Finance Department, highlighted that this program is a key effort to nurture and support young local talent. She pointed out that the department continually updates the program to attract more national students and give them hands-on experience in a real work environment.
This training opportunity allows students to make good use of their summer by engaging in meaningful work. They participate in various training activities across different parts of the department, gaining important technical and administrative skills while also learning about commitment and discipline.
This year, the department focused on a smaller group of students to ensure that each person receives individual attention and support. This way, they can closely monitor progress, evaluate how committed each student is, and prepare detailed reports on their training experiences.
One student, Ahmed Al Masafari, shared his thoughts on the program: “My experience at the Public Works Department was truly inspiring. Working in the Engineering Design Department, I learned the basics of structural drawing and saw how real projects come together. This experience helped me grow both personally and professionally, and it gave me more confidence in choosing my university major.”
The program also included workshops on various important topics, including how to plan for the future, choose the right university major, and find careers that match personal interests and strengths.
Overall, this initiative aligns with the department's goal to support the emirate's mission of cultivating a well-informed and skilled generation that can effectively contribute to sustainable development in the region.
