Sharjah 24: Mohammed Khalifa Al Badwawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Falconers Club, confirmed that Sharjah Falconers Club, under the umbrella of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), seeks to identify the best practices in breeding falcons, by contacting all local breeders, according to a specific strategy aiming to set sustainable policies to preserve the heritage of falconry.
Mohammed Khalifa Al Badwawi pointed to the importance of transferring knowledge, exchanging experiences, and intensifying partnerships with government and private institutions towards sustainable breeding of falcons.
This came during Mohammed Khalifa Al Badwawi speech at the Falconers Sustainability Forum, organised by the club, Thursday, in the presence of the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Falconers Club, and in the presence of a group of those concerned with falcons breeding.
The forum included four main topics, which discussed the link between capabilities and government support, the complementary relationship in achieving a sustainable economy for a quality environment of falconers.
In his speech, Al Badwawi touched on the highlights of sustainability in the breeding of falcons and their importance to the Sharjah community, as well as its connection to the economic, cultural, historical and sports aspects.
Local breeders participated with the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Falconers Club, to put forward new visions, towards achieving the UAE policies in the field of the sustainability of this important sport.
Mohammed Khalifa Al Badwawi put forward proposals and solutions to challenges, in addition to calling on government departments, including those related to energy and electricity, as well as those concerned with the allocation of agricultural lands, to provide all available and possible forms of support to the local breeders, given the high costs of production, the need for large areas of land, in addition to reducing the value of energy consumption in falcon breeding farms, which require high loads, skilled labour, immediate follow-up, and veterinary services around the clock.
Sharjah Falconers Club and local producers, affirmed their keenness to enhance joint work and integrate efforts, by adopting a number of recommendations and proposals that contribute to enhancing stability and growth in breeding policies that depend on producing the best types of falcons, in accordance with the encouragement and support of government institutions and the increase in electric power while reducing its cost.
