Sharjah 24: As part of its initiatives aimed at qualifying athletes in different clubs, to be able to practice falconry, Sharjah Falconers Club launched the “Falconer Guide” initiative.

The initiative is one of the summer activities that the club organises, in cooperation with a number of sports clubs, with the aim of integrating efforts to qualify a generation of athletes capable of caring for, breeding and taming falcons, according to the local environment conditions in the UAE.

To implement the initiative, Sharjah Falconers Club cooperated with the central region youth centres affiliated with the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, whereas the project aims to spread the culture of rationalisation and sustainability among players, especially falconers and those interested in falconry, in order to preserve the natural resources.

The initiative included many workshops and presentations by experts from the Sharjah Falconers Club, where a full explanation was given about the role of the “Falconer Guide” and its importance in preserving cultural and historical heritage related to falconry.

A number of clubs participated in the initiative, including the central region clubs, Al Dhaid Club, Mleiha Club, Al Bataeh Club and Al Madam Club.

His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Bedwawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Falconers Club, expressed his pride in the success of the Falconer Guide initiative, which was crowned with success thanks to the great turnout, especially with the cooperating authorities, which is in line with the policies of the UAE is in the Year of Sustainability, and in line with the vision of the Sharjah Sports Council. 

Al Bedwawi extended his thanks and appreciation to all the cooperating and supporting parties to the initiative, work teams and falconers who spared no effort to participate and enrich the initiative.
