Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW) has obtained a compliance certificate for the implementation of business continuity from the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), after passing all stages of the evaluation process and ensuring that all system standards are met.
The directorate has succeeded in preparing an integrated strategy for the business continuity management system in accordance with best practices to confront any incidents that disrupt the workflow or crises that threaten the directorate's ability to continue providing its services, operations and activities to stakeholders, by identifying and clarifying potential risks, developing appropriate plans and choosing the correct strategies to reduce the impact of disruption.
Engineer Hind Makram Nasser, Director of the Strategic Planning and Quality Centre and Head of the Business Continuity Team in the directorate, clarified that the application of the standard in the management of business continuity and taking the necessary measures and procedures enhance the department's ability to commit to providing its services to its dealings during crises, emergencies and disasters that the directorate may be exposed to.
She stressed the keenness of the directorate to provide training to work teams in the field of business continuity, to obtain conformity certificates, which contributed to enhancing the capabilities of workers to identify potential risks, how they affect the workflow, and develop appropriate plans and strategies to address them before they occur.
