This professional diploma programme, organised by the University of Sharjah’s Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development (CCEPD), reflects a broader strategy to empower Emirati professionals and cultivate future national leaders. It is part of an ongoing commitment to invest in human resources as a pillar of the country’s sustainable development goals.
Shaima Nabil, Head of Human Resources at the department, noted that the training equips participants with both strategic insight and advanced digital skills. This enables them to lead transformations within their organizations and respond effectively to evolving challenges. She emphasized that strong leadership forms the foundation of high-performing institutions.
The diploma programme combined academic coursework with practical training, offering a model of integrated learning. Participants were prepared to become adaptable leaders capable of managing various operational and strategic scenarios in today’s dynamic environment.
Participants explored critical themes such as future foresight and strategic planning, smart leadership strategies and digital transformation, building and leading high-performance teams, performance system management and key metric design, strategic decision-making using data science, innovation and transformational project design, and crisis and risk management for organizational resilience.
Participants underwent a series of evaluations to ensure the practical application of learned concepts. Upon completing all programme requirements, graduates received a “Professional Diploma in Executive Leadership Preparation” certificate from the University of Sharjah, recognising their newly acquired leadership competencies.
A total of 13 employees from the department, including directors, heads of departments and sections, and supervisors, were enrolled in the programme. The initiative aims to develop a pipeline of capable leaders ready to lead work teams, drive strategic goals, and contribute to the broader mission of sustainable national development.
