Sharjah24: The Friends of Arthritis Patients Society (FAPS) ,one of the associations of the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, organised its awareness campaign program on the occasion of World Arthritis Day.
The Friends of Arthritis Patients Society announced during a press conference held on Thursday evening the program of its awareness campaign organised on the occasion of the World Arthritis Day, which the world celebrates on October 12 of each year, where many awareness events will be organized, as well as different sports activities in various regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
Her Excellency Waheeda Abdelaziz, Head of the Arthritis Patients Friends Association in Sharjah, said in exclusive statements to “Sharjah 24”, that the Friends of Arthritis Patients Society has launched several initiatives and events targeting all members of society, in line with the occasion of World Arthritis Day.
Her Excellency added that this is based on the visions of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, highlighting the importance of educating all members of society and providing support to arthritis patients.
She pointed out that one of the most prominent events announced today was the launch of the scientific awareness campaign that targets all segments of society, with the participation of a large number of doctors and specialists in rheumatology in cooperation with the Gulf Rheumatological Association. The Sharjah Challenge was also announced through the formation of health and sports awareness competitive teams, in addition to the annual marathon in its ninth edition, which will be held on November 26.
