Sharjah 24: The Friends of Arthritis Patients Association (FOAP) at Sharjah's Supreme Council for Family Affairs, recently hosted virtual Ramadan sessions titled "Rheumatology Online," which were delivered by a number of experts specialising in joint disorders from Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The sessions aim to raise community members' health awareness about joint diseases and ways to prevent them, as well as to provide support and assistance to patients and raise their awareness of the most important health practices.
The Head of Friends of Arthritis Patients Association, Waheeda Abdulaziz stated that the awareness sessions are part of a series of initiatives and programmes that the association is keen to organise annually during the month of Ramadan.
She noted that that this comes under the generous support of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, to always strives to improve the physical and psychological health of arthritis patients.
The Ramadan sessions and the medical counsel they offered to help avoid joint disorders were highly acknowledged by the participants.
