Sharjah24: Dr. Adil Sajwani, Family Medicine Specialist Doctor, spoke about Thyroid disorders and how to deal with it during Ramadan, in episode 13 of "Your Doctor in Ramadan" programme, broadcasted on "Sharjah 24".
Dr. Sajwani pointed out that a lot of people, especially girls, suffer from hypothyroidism, stressing that patients can fast during Ramadan, but the problem is that the medicine must be taken on an empty stomach. He suggested to take the medication at sunset during the calling of prayers and then eat after half an hour; or they can wait two hours after iftar to and then take the medication.
