The events will take place at Al Heera Beach from 8 to 10 October, with 71 dhows expected to participate and total prize money of around AED 3 million.
Al Hammadi made the remarks at a press conference on Thursday at the Sharjah Sports Building, where details of the second edition were announced.
Al Hammadi said the Sir Bu Nair Challenge, dedicated to Sharjah Government employees, features teams of six competitors who navigate a series of obstacles across land and sea over a distance of 80 metres.
He added that the Sir Bu Nair Dhow Race is being held for the second consecutive season in collaboration with the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club.
The race features 60-foot dhows, starting in Al Hamriyah and finishing at Al Heera Beach, covering approximately 20 nautical miles.
Al Hammadi said 71 dhows are expected to participate this year, marking an increase on the previous edition, while the total prize value is estimated at around AED 3 million.
He noted that the events aim to offer a sporting and heritage experience that blends competition with the UAE’s maritime traditions.
