Among the standout newcomers is On Schedule, a discussion programme built around social issues that split opinion. Presenters take opposing sides of an argument, and listeners vote for the view they find more convincing. Jamal Al Sumaiti, Sheikha bin Khamis and Ahmed Lootah share hosting duties, airing Monday to Thursday at 4:30pm.
The Anchorage turns its attention to Sharjah's fishing industry and marine environment, drawing on the stories of fishermen and divers and the efforts under way to protect that heritage. Dr Abdullah Shaheel presents.
On the business side, Made in Sharjah follows entrepreneurs and investors and tracks developments in finance and commerce, produced in partnership with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and EKTEFA. Yousef Al Hammadi hosts this programme.
AI keeps pace with developments in smart technology and their impact on education, healthcare, media and business. Hazza Al Shehhi brings in specialists each episode to walk listeners through the latest developments, along with the opportunities, challenges and knock-on effects AI is having across daily life.
On the literary front, Literary Harbours takes on questions of writing, reading, criticism and creativity, hosted jointly by Sheikha Al Mutairi and Dr Hamda Al Awadi, blending critical and intellectual perspectives.
Constellations introduces listeners to space and astronomy in accessible terms, linking modern scientific understanding with the observations of earlier generations. Produced in collaboration with the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy and Space Sciences, it's presented by Ahmed Lootah.
Sowing focuses on shaping children's character across educational, psychological, health, digital and legal and financial dimensions, while reinforcing family values and national identity. Mona Al Suwaidi presents.
Legacy of Place revisits chapters from Sharjah's history and heritage, bringing in historians, researchers and specialists, and giving listeners the chance to share their own memories and experiences. Mariam Al Ajel hosts every Tuesday from 10 to 11am.
Amal Abdulrahman Al Owais, Director of Sharjah Radio, said the new season responds directly to audience interests and expectations and reaffirms the station's commitment to the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority's mission of delivering diverse, locally rooted content.
"We're proud that our production at Sharjah Radio is 100 per cent local," Al Owais said. "We've encouraged our teams to bring forward ideas and programmes drawn from the Emirati environment itself, close to what our listeners are interested in and what they need, in a way that strengthens the presence and diversity of local content."
