On the cultural and literary front, “Beit Al Qaseed” focuses on Nabati and classical Arabic poetry. It hosts poets from the Eastern Region to recite their work and discuss their creative experiences, while highlighting the role of poetry in enriching the cultural scene and preserving the UAE’s literary heritage. The programme airs every Tuesday at 7.30pm.
The channel also dedicates space to social and heritage memories through “Memories”, which explores heritage-related topics through conversations with elderly women recalling details of life in the past, including customs, traditions and knowledge that have formed part of the community’s collective memory. “Memories” airs every Friday at 6pm.
The programme “Vision” takes a documentary approach to presenting the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the Eastern Region, focusing on sustainable development and comprehensive progress across various fields. The programme airs every Friday at 7.30pm.
Ismail Issa Al Hosani, director of Al Sharqiya from Kalba, said the September programmes continue the channel’s approach of presenting content rooted in the local community and reflecting the distinctive character of the Eastern Region. He stressed that the channel is keen to document heritage and highlight the voices and experiences of local residents, while focusing on the development and progress taking place in the region under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Ismail Al Hosani added: “At Al Sharqiya, we are keen to make local content a central pillar of our work and to give residents of the region a platform to share their experiences, memories and knowledge, because documenting these details is also documenting the memory and identity of the place.”
