The meeting followed recent field efforts by Al Hamriyah City Municipality, in cooperation with the Municipal Council, which included inspecting infrastructure projects, roads and related facilities, and assessing their readiness for the 2026–2027 academic year. Particular attention was given to ensuring smooth traffic flow and enhancing safety for students, parents and road users.
The meeting was part of a series of preparations being undertaken by Al Hamriyah City Municipality ahead of the start of the new academic year, reflecting its commitment to integrating the roles of various authorities and institutions in the city. These efforts seek to create a safe environment for students, parents, teaching staff and road users.
The meeting discussed the readiness of roads and routes leading to schools, traffic management during peak hours, and measures to improve the flow of vehicles and school buses. It also addressed mechanisms for continuous field coordination and communication between the municipality and the relevant authorities, supporting a swift response to any needs or observations that may arise once the school day begins.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of integrating plans and field efforts during the first days of the academic year, which typically see heavier vehicle traffic around schools. Participants stressed the need for proactive measures to support the safety of students, parents and road users and ensure an organised and safe start to the educational process in Al Hamriyah City.
Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Al Hamriyah City Municipality, said the meeting reflected the municipality’s approach of integrated work and continuous coordination with the relevant authorities in Al Hamriyah City. He noted that the safety of students and the community is a key priority in preparations for the start of the academic year.
“Al Hamriyah City Municipality is keen to ensure that the start of the academic year is preceded by comprehensive readiness that extends beyond roads, facilities and municipal services. It also relies on close coordination and unified efforts with Al Hamriyah Police and all relevant
authorities to ensure that our students return to a safe and organised environment, while enhancing traffic flow and the safety of road users,” Al Shamsi said.
He added: “We work in the spirit of one team with our partners in Al Hamriyah City and believe that institutional integration and proactive planning are fundamental to achieving the highest levels of readiness, particularly during the first days of the academic year, when traffic volumes are high. Our goal is for our sons and daughters to return to their schools safely and happily, giving their families peace of mind.”
Al Shamsi noted that the municipality continues, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to monitor the readiness of roads, facilities and services associated with the school environment and respond to field observations and needs. This, he said, contributes to improving quality of life and strengthening the safety system across Al Hamriyah City.
At the end of his statement, Al Shamsi congratulated students, parents, and administrative and teaching staff on the start of the new academic year. He wished them a year filled with success, excellence and achievement, and encouraged students to begin the academic year with a positive spirit and renewed ambition, continuing their pursuit of learning, knowledge and excellence in ways that contribute to serving the UAE and its future.
