The visit coincided with the celebration of Emirati Women’s Day 2026, a national occasion to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Emirati women and their significant contributions across various fields of work and development. It also underscores their pivotal role in the UAE’s ongoing progress and development.
The visit included a tour of several facilities on Al Noor Island, a prominent tourist and leisure destination in the Emirate of Sharjah. The female employees explored the island's diverse natural, aesthetic, and environmental attractions, as well as visiting the Butterfly House and enjoying the island's tranquil atmosphere. This experience fostered positive communication among the female employees and created an atmosphere of happiness and appreciation.
His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, emphasised that celebrating Emirati Women's Day reflects the high status women hold in the UAE and the wise leadership's ongoing commitment to empowering them and supporting their presence in various work and leadership positions.
Al Shamsi stated that Al Hamriyah Municipality is proud of the outstanding efforts and effective contributions of its female employees in developing municipal work and serving the community. He added that organising this visit was a gesture of appreciation for their contributions and a commitment to enhancing the quality of work life and providing a positive and motivating work environment that values individuals and supports their abilities and aspirations.
Al Shamsi added that the municipality believes that investing in human capital and enhancing employee happiness and institutional loyalty are fundamental pillars for improving performance and achieving excellence. He noted that Emirati women have demonstrated a remarkable presence in various fields and have contributed efficiently and effectively to the comprehensive development the country is witnessing.
