Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council organised the sixth edition of the Sharjah–Al Hamriyah Aquathlon in cooperation with several supporting and contributing entities as part of this year’s community sports events series.

The event attracted 400 athletes from various age groups and featured swimming and running races over different distances, generating a strong response and an enthusiastic atmosphere among participants. Winners who secured top positions in the various races were honoured at the conclusion of the event.

The event was attended by Abdullah Rashid Al Muhairi, representing the Sharjah Sports Council; Thamer Al Shamsi, representing Al Hamriyah Sports and Cultural Club; and Khalid Al Shamsi, representing Al Hamriyah Municipality, who also presented the winners with their awards.

Sprint race

In the Emirati men’s category, Abdullah Al Ghaithi finished first, with Mohammed Ahmed second and Mohammed Ali third. In the Emirati women’s category, Maryam Al Ali took first place.

In the men’s open category, Mohsen Al Ali took first place, with Christine Salmon second and Daniel Nieto third. In the women’s open category, Nika Sfajosa finished first, with Karen Price second and Gemma Brown third.

In the teams category, Al Hamriyah took first place, with Al Qudra second and Al Qudra Running third.

Super sprint race

In the Emirati men’s category, Hamad Al Thuraidi finished first, with Rashid Al Kaabi second and Ali Al Kaabi third. In the Emirati women’s category, Kulthoum Al Mazmi took first place.

In the men’s open category, Mohsen Al Fawzan took first place, with Sebastian Noble second and Zayed Fouad third. In the women’s open category, Jessica Slade finished first, with Florence Esberg second and Millie Slade third.

Junior race

In the boys’ category, Marco Cozzolino finished first, followed by Bradley James in second and Luca Jalloul in third. In the girls’ category, Adriana Lauranca took first place, followed by Athena Bellalis in second and Kaitana Lauranca in third.
