The participation reflects the municipality’s commitment to supporting community and educational programmes accompanying the start of the new academic year, while promoting positive values and behaviours among students from the early stages of their education.
Through its community and awareness programmes, Al Hamriyah Municipality continues to reinforce its role as a partner in supporting families, schools and the wider community. It believes that investing in children’s awareness and promoting values of responsibility, belonging and positive behaviour are among the key foundations for building the future.
The municipality’s participation also supports the campaign’s goal of strengthening community partnership in advancing education and instilling values that contribute to developing aware and responsible generations. Its activities combined awareness, learning, creativity and entertainment, providing students with an engaging and motivating experience at the beginning of the academic year.
As part of its participation, the municipality delivered the “My School is Clean” workshop, which focused on raising students’ awareness of the importance of keeping their school and surrounding environment clean.
The workshop introduced proper waste disposal practices and encouraged students to use designated areas and bins. It also emphasised the importance of maintaining cleanliness in classrooms, corridors, courtyards and other school facilities.
The workshop highlighted the concept of shared responsibility, stressing that maintaining a clean school environment is a responsibility shared by all members of the school community. Students’ positive behaviour, it noted, is essential to creating a healthy, clean, comfortable and stimulating learning environment.
The municipality also held the “My Special Planner” workshop, giving children the opportunity to design and decorate their own planners using colours, drawings and stickers. The activity aimed to develop their creative abilities while giving them an enjoyable artistic space to express their personalities and interests.
The programme also featured the “Colour Your Bookmark” workshop, an interactive art activity in which students created and coloured bookmarks in a variety of designs. It aimed to develop children’s artistic skills, encourage creativity and connect artistic activities with reading, learning and the return to school.
The programme included a range of simple questions and competitions tailored to the participating age groups. These activities were designed to encourage student engagement and assess their understanding of the awareness messages presented.
Gifts and motivational school supplies were also distributed, adding an atmosphere of enjoyment and enthusiasm to the students’ participation.
Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, said the municipality’s participation in the campaign is aligned with its community role and its commitment to supporting students and educational institutions.
He highlighted the importance of strengthening integration among different organisations to ensure a positive start to the new academic year.
“Al Hamriyah Municipality is keen to be an active partner in programmes targeting our students and to contribute educational and awareness content that instils positive values, particularly responsibility and the importance of maintaining cleanliness, the environment and public facilities, while also developing creativity and fostering a love of learning,” Al Shamsi said.
He added that the municipality had taken care to diversify the content of its participation by combining awareness, interaction and creative activities, ensuring that students become active participants rather than merely recipients. This approach, he said, helps reinforce their understanding of the messages presented in a way suited to their respective age groups.
