The award was presented during a ceremony attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah.

Promoting volunteerism and community partnerships

Brigadier General Faisal bin Nassar, Director-General of the General Directorate of Community Protection and Prevention, affirmed that the new achievement reflects Sharjah Police's commitment to fostering a culture of volunteerism and implementing sustainable humanitarian initiatives which plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life in the society.

He noted that winning first place demonstrates the effectiveness of institutional collaboration and the leadership's commitment to leveraging community partnerships to deliver impactful initiatives that strengthen humanitarian work and reinforce the role of the police in serving the community.

Enhancing healthcare for inmates

Brigadier Abdullah Rashid Allay , Director of the Correctional Institution Department, stated that the initiative brought together volunteer dentists from the University of Sharjah, in cooperation with supporting organisations, to provide dental treatment and implant services for inmates.

He explained that the initiative has helped deliver advanced specialised healthcare, improve inmates' quality of life and strengthen community partnerships by drawing on the expertise of volunteer healthcare professionals. The programme also promotes social responsibility and reinforces the sustainability and humanitarian impact of volunteer work within correctional institutions.

Al Alai added that the achievement is the result of the dedication and teamwork of all those involved, underscoring the importance of collaboration, determination and commitment to excellence in promoting humanitarian and community values, improving inmates' wellbeing, supporting rehabilitation efforts and contributing to a safe and cohesive society.
