Sharjah Police (SP) received a delegation representing 18 government entities in the emirate, hosted under the supervision of the Government Development Department at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council.

The visit brought together leaders of customer experience improvement teams from across Sharjah's government bodies to examine the force's institutional approach to service development and to exchange best practices supporting government excellence and innovation in service delivery.

Inside Sharjah Police's service development system

During the visit, the delegation reviewed Sharjah Police's framework for developing services, along with the initiatives that have done the most to improve the customer experience and streamline procedures. A remote virtual tour walked visitors through the Traffic and Licensing Services Centre, one of the force's flagship six-star-rated centres, highlighting the concrete results it has achieved in service quality and customer satisfaction in line with government best practice.

The visit is part of the Sharjah Customer Experience Improvement Programme, one of the strategic initiatives launched by the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah. The programme is built around placing people at the centre of service development, drawing on innovation and a deep understanding of customer needs, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement to deliver an integrated government experience that enhances quality of life.

Excellence as an ongoing journey

Brigadier Dr Tarek Al Midfa, Deputy Director-General of the General Department of Community Protection Police, said Sharjah Police's leadership views institutional excellence as a continuous journey rather than a fixed achievement, one that renews itself by embracing opportunities for improvement and treating feedback as a route to better institutional performance. He added that sharing experience with other government entities is a cornerstone of building institutional knowledge and developing services according to best practice—strengthening the efficiency of government services, raising quality of life, and cementing Sharjah's standing as a model of leadership and government excellence.

Colonel Dr Sameh Al Hulyan, Director of the Strategy and Institutional Excellence Department and leader of Sharjah Police's customer experience improvement team, said that showcasing successful institutional experiences opens up opportunities for knowledge exchange and helps inspire development solutions across government entities. He noted that the engagement and exchange of views seen during the visit reflect a maturing culture of institutional development—one rooted in constructive dialogue, government partnerships, and shared expertise that reinforces continuous learning and strengthens entities' ability to design more efficient, flexible services that meet customers' expectations.

Closing discussion

The visit closed with participants discussing several themes related to government service development. Representatives of the participating entities raised questions about the methodologies and practices applied at Sharjah Police in a discussion that yielded an exchange of expertise and development insights—reflecting a shared commitment to government integration and to drawing on successful experiences to raise the quality of services and the customer experience.
