Sharjah 24: Sharjah Department of Public Works, in cooperation with the Sharjah Police (SP), conducted a desk exercise for its business continuity system. The exercise aimed to enhance institutional preparedness and improve risk management efficiency within the department, ensuring the continuity of essential services under various circumstances.

The exercise included a detailed review of emergency response plans, an assessment of the effectiveness of procedures implemented to guarantee operational continuity during crises, and simulations of potential workflow disruptions. The goal was to test the readiness of specialised teams and their ability to make swift and effective decisions.

Implementing global best practices in business continuity

The sessions also focused on strengthening coordination between the department's teams and police units, developing communication mechanisms, and ensuring the integration of roles among relevant entities. This contributes to enhancing institutional resilience and improving the ability to recover quickly from any operational disruption.

The department emphasised that this exercise is part of its strategic plan to promote a culture of risk management and implement global best practices in business continuity, thereby supporting service quality and bolstering public confidence in the institution's preparedness.
