Sharjah Police stressed that using any means that obstructs vision while driving is among the most dangerous traffic practices, as it results in the driver losing the safe visibility required to operate a vehicle and puts lives and property at risk. It emphasised that road safety begins with drivers’ compliance with traffic regulations and instructions and refraining from anything that could affect driving efficiency.

Sharjah Police confirmed that this behaviour is considered a dangerous practice that affects the driver’s ability to drive safely and respond to sudden situations. It is classified under Article (1) of the Traffic Law, which stipulates that driving a vehicle in a manner that endangers the driver’s life, the lives of others, their safety or security, or in a manner that could cause damage to public or private facilities constitutes a violation. The penalty includes a fine of AED 2,000, 23 traffic points, and vehicle impoundment for 60 days.

Sharjah Police called on all drivers to act responsibly, comply with traffic rules and regulations, and avoid using any means or tools that obstruct vision or affect the ability to drive safely. It stressed that efforts to monitor and control dangerous traffic behaviours will continue, contributing to protecting lives and property and enhancing the security and safety of road users.
