Sharjah Police reminds motorists of tyre safety regulations

As part of the awareness drive, Sharjah Police reminded motorists that driving a vehicle fitted with unsafe tyres constitutes a traffic violation under Article (82), carrying a fine of AED 500, four traffic black points, and vehicle impoundment for seven days. Drivers were strongly urged to inspect their tyres regularly, replace them when necessary, and verify that their braking systems are fully functional before travelling to safeguard themselves and other road users.

Campaign promotes safe pedestrian crossing practices

In addition to vehicle checks, the campaign focuses heavily on improving pedestrian safety by encouraging the use of designated crossings, bridges, and tunnels rather than crossing at unauthorized locations. Authorities highlighted that failing to comply with pedestrian crossing regulations is a violation under Article (88), punishable by a fine of AED 400, stressing that using designated pathways plays a vital role in preventing severe accidents and saving lives.

Reaffirming that road safety is a shared responsibility, Sharjah Police called for active cooperation from all members of the community.
