Sharjah24: As part of its ongoing efforts to make productive use of the summer vacation, His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, announced the launch of the summer programme, "A Holiday Reimagined", organised under the patronage of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) from 6 to 30 July.

The creative programme targets children and teenagers in the 7–12 and 13–17 age groups and has attracted 450 participants. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club noted that this year's edition introduces a smart platform for managing the programme, designed to enhance communication between parents, participants, supervisors and organising committees.

Smart platform enhances parent engagement

Speaking to Sharjah 24, Al Khasouni said the smart platform is one of the programme's key new features, enabling parents to monitor their children's journey from the moment they leave home until they return, track their attendance at the club, view the activities they participate in, and communicate directly with supervisors and organising committees, improving organisation and daily follow-up.

Strengthening community involvement

Al Khasouni added that the club has placed special emphasis this year on increasing family participation in the Mleiha area by involving parents from the programme's launch. He noted that the attendance of families and heads of government departments at the opening ceremony reflects the local community's support for the club and its commitment to the success of its summer initiatives.

Focus on heritage, sport and innovation

He explained that the programme features a wide range of activities aimed at promoting national identity, Emirati values, customs and traditions, with the participation of heritage specialists and senior community members. It also includes sports programmes designed to identify and develop talented athletes across the club's 12 sporting disciplines while improving participants' physical fitness and resilience during the summer break.

In addition, the programme offers workshops on creativity and artificial intelligence, delivered by specialised institutions.
