Sharjah 24: Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club organised a specialised training workshop for bus drivers and club staff as part of its preparations for the launch of the Sharjah Summer Sports Programme, “A Holiday Reimagined 2026.” The workshop aimed to enhance safety, quality, and discipline, and to raise the level of preparedness among the teams participating in the summer programme.

Safe and comprehensive environment for club members

The workshop reflects the club's commitment to providing a safe and comprehensive environment for its members and ensuring the delivery of distinguished services that contribute to the programme's success and the achievement of its social and educational goals.

The workshop covered several important topics, including the responsibilities of bus drivers and staff, safety procedures before and during transportation, mechanisms for ensuring buses are empty after trips, general safety and security instructions, evacuation procedures and emergency response, and prevention of heat stress. It also emphasised the importance of commitment, professional discipline, and teamwork.

The workshop also reviewed emergency numbers, relevant authorities, and internal communication mechanisms, enhancing the speed of response to emergencies and contributing to risk reduction. It further emphasised the importance of maintaining the safety of participants as a shared responsibility of all staff.

Safety is priority

Mansour Rashid Al Ketbi, Executive Director of Mleiha Club and General Supervisor of the Summer Activities, confirmed that organising this workshop is part of the club's plan to enhance the readiness of all work teams before the launch of "A Holiday Reimagined 2026" programme. He pointed out that drivers and workers are essential to the programme's success, given their direct role in providing a safe and organised environment for participants.

Al Ketbi said, "Every year, we are keen to implement training programmes and workshops that contribute to strengthening the culture of safety, quality, and discipline among all employees, and to standardise work procedures to ensure the provision of the best services to our participating children, according to the highest standards of quality and institutional excellence."

Al Ketbi added, "The safety of participants is our top priority, and we continuously work to develop the capabilities of our work teams and prepare them to deal with various situations and circumstances to ensure the success of the Sharjah Summer Sports Programme and the achievement of its desired goals." Al Ketbi pointed out that the Mleiha Club continues to complete its administrative, organisational and technical preparations for the launch of “A Holiday Reimagined” programme, which enhances its role in investing the time of children and youth during the summer holiday, and providing a safe and distinguished summer experience for participants.
