Sharjah24: Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club has concluded its Family Week activities, the opening event of the Sharjah Summer Sports Programme “A Holiday reimagined 2026,” following four days of cultural, awareness, sports, and community-focused activities. The week attracted strong participation from club members and families, marking a successful start to the summer programme organised by the Sharjah Sports Council.

Family Week promotes values and community engagement

The opening week featured a variety of initiatives and workshops, including the programme’s launch ceremony attended by officials and community representatives. Participants took part in awareness sessions on security, safety, and responsible social media use, as well as Quranic programmes and family workshops held in cooperation with the Sharjah Family Development Foundation.

The week also introduced community initiatives including “Barakat Al Dar,” “Ambassador of the Family,” and “Voice of the Member,” which aimed to strengthen communication, participation, and community connection. Activities concluded with a field visit to the foundation, alongside sports tournaments and recreational events.

Artificial Intelligence Week begins with future-focused activities

Mohammed Awad Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Summer Activities Organising Committee, said Family Week achieved its goals of reinforcing family values and strengthening partnerships with community organisations. He praised the efforts of the organising teams and partners, highlighting the strong engagement of participants and their families throughout the activities.

Al Ketbi announced the launch of the programme’s second phase, Artificial Intelligence Week, under the theme “AI: Partner of the Future.” The week will feature specialised workshops, scientific visits, and practical experiments designed to introduce participants to AI technologies, enhance digital skills, and encourage innovation.

Partnerships to enhance AI learning experience

Al Ketbi noted that Artificial Intelligence Week will include the participation of specialised institutions, including the Sharjah Digital Department, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, and other partners offering scientific and practical experiences.

He added that the activities will allow participants to explore AI applications across different fields while supporting the UAE’s vision of preparing future generations with advanced skills. Al Ketbi reaffirmed that the organising committee continues to deliver a comprehensive summer experience combining knowledge, innovation, sports, and entertainment, strengthening Mleiha Club’s role as a leading provider of programmes for children and youth.
