The workshop aims to achieve the strategic goal of strengthening social cohesion, raising awareness, and promoting community culture.
The initiative aims to leverage the skills of specialised parents in delivering educational and awareness programmes, contributing to raising community awareness and developing the skills of community members. It focuses on engaging students and parents in interactive activities with an educational and cultural dimension.
The workshop was presented by the Council's Vice President, Mohammed Saif Al Dhahouri, a certified first aid trainer. It covered the basics of first aid for students in a simplified and practical manner.
Participants learned how to deal with minor injuries such as wounds and burns, the correct course of action in emergency situations, and the skills needed to seek help.
The workshop saw remarkable participation and interaction, with 38 students from various educational levels in attendance, along with their parents. They demonstrated great enthusiasm in applying the skills through realistic simulation exercises. This contributed to instiling preventative concepts and enhancing their sense of responsibility and awareness of the importance of first aid.
The Council emphasised that organising this workshop falls within the framework of its commitment to creating collaborative educational initiatives that bring together members of society from all walks of life and open the way for experienced parents to provide added value to their community, thus achieving the Council's vision of building an informed and cohesive society.
The workshop concluded with honouring all participants and attendees, and the trainer delivered awareness messages to parents about the importance of teaching their children the basics of first aid, as it is an essential life skill that can save lives and enhance children's self-confidence and ability to handle emergencies.
