Sharjah 24: As part of its commitment to instiling values of social responsibility and strengthening intergenerational communication, the Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, in cooperation with the Dibba Al Hisn Social Services Department Office, organised a unique initiative entitled "Gathering of Blessings of the Home."

The initiative was dedicated to celebrating and honouring the elderly, in recognition of their contributions and their prominent position in Emirati society, as they are considered the "blessings of the home" and a fundamental pillar of its social fabric.

Warm atmosphere

The initiative was held in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, characterised by friendliness and respect, with the participation of the elderly, who interacted with a variety of activities that combined traditional and social themes.

A prominent presence from the club's leadership was also present, led by His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Rashid Al Tarban, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Football Club, and Mr. Mohammed Khalifa Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Club, along with Mr. Mohammed Rashid Rushoud, member of the Club's Cultural Committee, and several representatives of community institutions.

Varied programme

The event featured heritage performances, exciting games, and competitions, along with free medical checkups and consultations to support the health of the elderly and promote their preventative efforts.

The participation of the Hamdan Folk Arts Troupe was a valuable addition, delighting attendees with traditional seafaring songs that conveyed the fragrance of the past and brought to mind the authenticity of Emirati heritage and its values of love and pride in identity.

Honouring

At the conclusion of the "Gathering of Blessings of the Home," the club honoured the participating seniors, the Social Services Office, the Hamdan Folk Arts Troupe, and Al Sharqiya TV in Kalba, which covered the event. This gesture of loyalty and gratitude left a lasting impression on everyone.

Participants emphasised the importance of such initiatives in instiling authentic Emirati values and strengthening social communication among different age groups. This contributes to spreading a culture of appreciation and loyalty to the elderly, embodying their humanitarian mission as role models and a source of experience and wisdom for new generations.
