The session formed part of the Institute’s efforts to enhance community awareness of the importance of national heritage and to present intellectual perspectives on ways to harmonise the demands of the modern age with the preservation of cultural heritage in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The session, held at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage branch in Dibba Al Hisn, explored several key themes, including “Mechanisms for Preserving Heritage Amid Contemporary Developments”, “The Role of Social Media in Showcasing Emirati Heritage in an Engaging Way”, and “Innovative Approaches to Passing Heritage on to Future Generations”. Discussions also addressed “The Importance of Heritage Publications and Studies in Documenting National Identity.”
The session witnessed valuable contributions from officials of government departments and dignitaries from Dibba Al Hisn. At the close of the event, Hind Al Awani honoured Dr Hamad bin Seray in appreciation of his participation and scholarly contributions to the field of heritage.
