The course ran for three consecutive days and concluded on Sunday at the club's headquarters. The course was attended by staff from the club's medical unit and a number of supervisors and administrators.
The "Medical Emergency Responder" course aimed to provide participants with the practical knowledge and skills to handle emergency situations on stadiums and sports halls, with the goal of enhancing player safety. It included intensive topics in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults and children, rapid identification of critical cases, and handling acute sports injuries such as fractures, sprains, and joint dislocations. It also covered bleeding control, head, chest, and spinal injuries, safe transport protocols, and rapid communication and response chains.
The course concluded in the presence of His Excellency Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al Motawa, Chairman of the Club's Board of Directors, who commended the efforts of the medical unit and the team involved in organising this unique initiative.
Al Motawa emphasised that such programmes align with the club's vision to instil a culture of safety and prevention and enhance the sporting environment to be safer for players in various sports.
Stakeholders noted that the course reflects the club's commitment to operating in accordance with the latest approved medical standards and guidelines, enhancing the team's ability to respond immediately to emergency situations. At the same time, it underscores that investing in continuous training is a fundamental pillar of sporting success.
