Chess and suspense

 The novel blends suspense and symbolism, and takes its origins in the world of chess, which in the text transforms from a mental game into a mirror of life and its inner struggles. 

The young man, "Mubdi'," faces a journey filled with challenges and questions, beginning with the disappearance of the white knight from the playing board. The search for it turns into an adventure of self-discovery, before becoming merely an attempt to solve a mysterious puzzle.

 In the author's remarks, Dr Mohammed bin Jarsh emphasised that the work does not call on young men to excel over others as much as it urges them to view the world from a different perspective. He pointed out that the horse in the text is not an inanimate object, but rather a symbol of mental freedom and leaping over the impossible. He also noted that the story does not end with the word "checkmate," but rather begins from it, opening limitless doors.
