Sharjah 24: Dibba Al Hisn Council, under Sharjah Districts Affairs Department (SDAD), organised an open meeting for parents and high school graduates as part of its community initiative, "Yalsatna," in close cooperation with the Dibba Al Hisn Parents Council.

The meeting aimed to broaden students' academic horizons and introduce them to registration opportunities and available majors at several universities in the Emirate of Sharjah, including the University of Sharjah, University of Khorfakkan, and the Sharjah Maritime Academy.

Remarkable turnout

The meeting saw a remarkable turnout and significant interaction from students and their parents with representatives from the participating colleges and universities, who provided comprehensive explanations of admission requirements and the requirements for different academic tracks.

Facilitating the process of choosing university majors

The event was also attended by His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Al Hamoudi, Vice Chairman of the Council, along with a number of council members and officials.

In a statement, His Excellency Dr Salah Obaid Al Ghoul, Chairman of Dibba Al Hisn Council, affirmed that organising this event stems from the continuous keenness of SDAD and its affiliated councils to extend effective communication bridges with the city’s residents and support our graduating students at this pivotal stage of their academic lives.

He pointed out that the “Yalsatna” initiative always seeks to provide awareness services and advice that address the needs of the family and society, and he appreciated the cooperation with the Parents Council and the participating universities to facilitate the process of choosing university majors and setting the compass of scientific excellence for young people in a way that contributes to serving the nation and meeting the requirements of the future labour market.
