Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) has rolled out a series of summer initiatives designed to increase community engagement and raise awareness among its employees, local residents, and students.

The campaign features interactive workshops and educational materials focused on promoting best practices for managing summer weather conditions. These efforts directly support the department’s goals of improving workplace and community wellbeing while reinforcing a strong culture of health and occupational safety.

Workshops promote safety, sustainability, and innovation

The programme includes practical, hands-on workshops that address vital topics such as occupational safety, environmental sustainability, public health, and workplace innovation. Department specialists conducted applied training sessions specifically tailored to address the unique challenges of the summer season, enabling participants to build their knowledge and skills regarding safety and overall wellbeing.

Awareness materials support summer safety measures

Alongside the educational sessions, the initiatives involved distributing health and awareness resources, including informational brochures that highlight effective methods for coping with summer conditions. Furthermore, the department organised water distribution at specific field locations to assist labourers working on active projects, helping to safeguard their health and comfort during the hot weather.

Initiatives support Sharjah’s vision for a safe environment

The SDPW stated that these summer programmes are an integral part of its annual strategy to elevate the quality of life within both the workplace and the broader community while advancing health and occupational knowledge. The initiatives directly align with the Emirate of Sharjah’s broader vision to sustain a safe and sustainable environment all year round.

Participants expressed their appreciation for the programmes, commending the department for delivering initiatives that successfully merge practical advantages with meaningful community support.
