Jamal Saeed Bu Zinjal stated that the 12th edition of the Dibba Al Hisn Maleh and Fishing Festival kicked off on Thursday, at Al Hisn Island, in the presence of department heads and officials. The festival, which will run until August 31, will feature marine shows and interactive activities that highlight the heritage and introduce visitors to ancient maritime professions. Several government institutions and productive families will participate, showcasing their products.
Consolidating the presence of national heritage
Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Jamal Saeed Bu Zinjal confirmed that the festival aims to consolidate the presence of the national heritage represented by the Maleh industry, revive the traditions of marine fishing, and pass them on to new generations through practical programmes and interactive displays.
Supporting the local economy
Bu Zinjal added that the event provides an organised platform for entrepreneurs and productive families to showcase their products and expand their markets, supporting the local economy and enhancing Dibba Al Hisn's position as a heritage and tourist destination.
Bu Zinjal invited the public to visit the festival, which opens its doors until August 31, urging everyone to seize the opportunity and enjoy a unique experience that combines heritage and entertainment.
He emphasised that the events and activities are open to all family members, making it a unique heritage event well worth the visit.
