Sharjah 24: In line with the "Let’s Summer 2025" activities, organised by the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, the Mleiha Youth Centre, affiliated with Sharjah Youth, offered a rich experience to enrich the cultural, artistic, professional, and technical skills of its members, aged 13 to 18.
47 unique programmes

The programme featured 47 unique activities that combined interactive learning with practical experiences, providing them with ideal opportunities to develop their skills and enhance their expertise in a creatively stimulating environment.

The centre distinguished itself by providing a safe and enjoyable environment for its members to discover themselves through organising a Skills Lab, which saw wide participation from members of Sharjah Youth Centres in the Central Region. Through the Lab, participants received practical training focused on enhancing teamwork skills and self-confidence through a series of specialised programmes and workshops, including photography, lighting, editing, and technical processes within the Cinema Arts Lab.

Participants learned the skills of crafting creative models using leather, carpets, and pottery in the Crafts and Creative Industries Lab. They mastered home maintenance skills and designed miniature solar panels in the Technical and Vocational Lab. They also learned how to create creative tables and 3D models in the Miniature World workshop within the Fine Arts Lab.

Awareness programmes

“Let’s Summer” at Mleiha Youth Centre included a series of interactive community partnerships that had a profound impact on honing participants' cultural and intellectual skills and developing their knowledge. This was achieved through a comprehensive package of awareness programmes held in cooperation with Sharjah Social Services Department, Al Dhaid Public Library, and the Security Media Department at Sharjah Police General Command.

These programmes included: the "Loyalty and Belonging" Values Instillation Programme, the "Al Sanaa" session, along with "Inventor in an Hour," and "Minds Challenge Puzzles." Furthermore, they discussed cyberbullying and the optimal use of social media, which contributed to enhancing participants' awareness and expanding their horizons.

Sports activities

Participants engaged in a variety of sporting experiences in cooperation with the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, amidst an atmosphere of adventure and challenge, developing their physical skills. They also participated in numerous recreational activities and guided cultural trips as part of the Saturday Recreational Initiative, giving the event a balanced atmosphere that combines fun and benefit.

Abdulrahman Darwish, Director of the Mleiha Youth Centre, emphasised the centre's endeavour to offer creative programmes during the summer vacation, in line with the Rubu' Qarn Foundation's vision in building the integrated character of youth. Darwish added that the Mleiha Youth Centre, is keen to make summer a real opportunity to optimally invest in the energies of young people, not only through recreational activities, but also through balanced programmes that combine knowledge, skills, and values, preparing children to be influential leaders, capable of facing the challenges of the future.
